Visiting the studio
Visit my studio or booth at a farmers' market and you will find many items on display that aren't on the web site.
The studio is open most weekdays in summer, 11am - 4pm (usually longer) by chance or appointment.
On Saturdays I am usually at Halifax Seaport Farmersí Market.
Check my Facebook page for updates, or a phone call or email may avoid a wasted journey.
Location: Seafoam Woodturning Studio is located at Seafoam on the north shore of Nova Scotia, approximately half way between Tatamagouche and Pictou. The nearest village is River John.
The studio is right on the Sunrise Trail, a pleasant vacation destination.
Map showing my location
By Air: The studio is less than two hours drive from Halifax International Airport (YHZ).
By Sea: There are Ferry services to Nova Scotia from Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland.
By Road: The main road access to Nova Scotia is through New Brunswick on the Trans Canada Highway. I would recommend turning off the TCH at Amherst and taking the Sunrise Trail Scenic Route all the way to my studio. From Truro to the south, the most direct route is to take exit 14A from Hwy 102 and turn right. After about 4km turn left onto the 311 and follow this over Nutby mountain and down into Earltown. Immediately after the store turn right on to the 326. Ignore any GPS suggestions unless you want to try short cuts on gravel roads. Follow this road all the way to its end and turn right onto Trunk 6. Stay on this road and the studio is on the right, 7km after the bridge at River John. From New Glasgow leave highway 104 at junction 22 and take the 106 all the way to the Pictou rotary. Take the third exit for Trunk 6, and the studio will be on your left about 1km after Seafoam campground.
